The wait is over – voting for the Sanrio Character Ranking 2026 is officially open!

What is the Sanrio Character Ranking?

The Sanrio Character Ranking is a once-a-year global popularity contest celebrating Sanrio’s most beloved characters. First launched in 1986 in The Strawberry News, the event is now in its 41st edition.

Out of over 450 Sanrio characters, 90 selected characters are entered in the ranking this year. Let’s cheer for all the characters who are trying their best, together with all the fans who are also giving their all.

How to vote for your Favorite Sanrio Characters!

Voting is open from April 9 to May 24 2026. Taking part is simple:

• Visit the Character Ranking official website
• Find your favorite characters
• Click the vote button

You can vote once per character, every day, so make sure to come back daily and support your favorites!

When will the results be announced?

The final results will be announced on Sunday, June 28, during SANRIO FES 2025.

Last year, Pompompurin, Cinnamoroll, and Pochacco claimed the top three spots. Who will take the crown this year? Will Pompompurin keep is crown or will a new winner get under the spotlight?
